Hey guys I just joined but im no idiot to forums. I tried searching for some info but the search doesnt work as well as Id like it to, but some work way better than others.

Looking for some info as to what cars rear sway bar will bolt up to a 78 Elco that didnt have one stock. I found one from an 81 Caprice Classic but dont know too much about american muscle.

Real quick, my dad has a 78 Elco with a 350, pretty much all stock except for some genuine IROCs that were chromed.

So searching I found only this little bit of info but am unsure it it pertains to a rear sway bar...
Use a anti-sway bar from any G-Body.

Not too familiar with american body classifications, what exactly is a G body, and will the rear sway bar work on the 78 Elco? I read you can bolt F body front sway bars to the Elco, but didnt see much at all about the rear. So any help is appreciated, im not looking to buy a new sway bar, just looking to grab one at a junkyard while im tearing apart Honda Civics and Toyota Supras.

In a nutshell...Chevy Malibus and Monte Carlos, Buick Regals, Regal Type Ts and Grand Nationals, Olds Cutlass and Cutlass Supreme, Pontiac Lemans and Grand Prixs. Between 78-87, but only models that had rear wheel drive. Make sure you grab all the mounting hardware with the sway bar when you find one. And no a Caprice sway bar will not fit. The front sway bar on the above listed cars will also interchange, but also the front sway bar (only) from 82-92 Camaros and Firebirds (3rd Gen F bodies) will work.

Check out the classified section of Turbobuick.com (another forum) there are plenty of guys, myself included, that ditch the stock rear bar from a Grand National in favor of something closer to 1.5"! Every now and then, there a few that pop up for sale. Should be pretty inexpensive.
