Does the new rear have bushings installed already? Or is that what you are refering to? As for the rest of the bushings, it depends on their condition, they may be fine. They all, however, could be called control arm bushings.

As long as you have the rear axle assembly out I would replace all bushings: 4 lower control arm bushings (2 in each control arm) and 4 upper control arm bushings (1 in each of the control arms and 2 in the axle housing brackets).

Been trying to find all those rear end bushings for a cupla months now but so far, have only found the upper CA ones listed anywhere. I'm not bout to put poly bushings in there. Where can I find ALL of the eight rear end bushings listed?????? I'd sure prefer to use either Moog or Delco, not TRW or McQuay-Norris or Spicer or Coni or any of the other off-name-brands.

Most any auto part store.

The Delco site, Rock and DAP all only list this for Delco:
BUSHING,RR SUSP UPR CONT ARM -; LEFT HAND

The Otterzone site lists a "Duralast" FB347 for BOTH the upper and lower.

So, is it true that ALL EIGHT of the rear control arm bushings are the SAME???

You can use the F-bod lower bushings too. They are slightly stiffer but have a different shape to allow movement. Look them up as an 88+ with 1LE option.

The rear LCA on the F-bod stayed the same configuration for a long time.

All eight are identical.

Don't use the late f-bod LCA bushings in the G-Bod UCA though.

All eight are identical.

That seems odd (because I wudda sworn the LCA bushings look smaller than the monstrous-sized UCA bushing in the axle housing), but I'll take your word for it till I have a good looksee at mine (rained yesterday and last night and I was planning to remove the exhaust from my '84 today and have a good looksee at the rear control arms; don't feeling like rolling around in the mud under a car today :x ).

Just looked at my '78-'87 Caballero Parts & Illustration Catalog. While it gives a PN for replacement GM UCA bushings (10000068), it doesn't bother doing so for the LCAs, only gives a PN for the LCAs theirselves (10000063). For the UCA bushings, though, it lists a quantity required of 2, which I have to interpret to mean both the front and rear UCA bushings are the same. The illustration only points to the front LCA bushing and gives the group number of 5.381 (same as for the UCA bushings) but doesn't point to the rear LCA bushing, although the illustration listing does show a qty of 2; so I assume it means the front and rear LCA bushings are also identical.

sounds like all eight are the same.
