First off, I've got a '70 with air shocks out back. My understanding is that this is a stock configuration. In the interest of better handling, I want to install KYB Gas-a-Just shocks (front and back). If I do, this would obviously eliminate the potential extra support provided by the air shocks.

So, how about the KYB's plus air bags? Is this not the best of both worlds?

That's what I did with my 1987, I used Bilsteins and air bags inside the coil springs. Works great!
