I recently pulled the whole dash off of my 1979 El Camino to install a new dashboard with aftermarket gauges. I found the connector that plugs into some sort of computer wiring looking piece of plastic that covers the back of the dashboard. I traced some of the leads and found the grey wire to be the dash lighting, black to be the ground, and what i beleive pink to be the fuel sender. Does anyone know the exact wires that go with the functions on the connector.

Aaron

Also, why are they called idiot lights? I have the "granny-style" speedometer.
Thanks Again,
Aaron

IMHO > They call them that because (I guess) Idiots can't read a gauge,
so the lights tell them there is something wrong or need their attention.
JUST MY GUESS ON THAT< and I don't mean any disrespect to anyone
in my asumption. lol
