Hi, I'm brand new to ECC! I think (so far) this site is an excellent idea! I am the proud owner of my second 72 Elky. My brother bought the last EC in Louisville, KY, new in 72. He drove it through every state of the lower 48 and through a good portion of Canada before parking it with 276K miles. He was saving it for a father/son project, but when his son was old enough, his interest level wasn't high enough, so big brother passed it too little brother! I, being in the military at the time of acquisition, have TOWED it through nearly all the lower 48! But now it is quietly nestled in my shop, awaiting the completion of restoration. It started as a frame-off restoration, sitting now on a beautiful chassis, but alas, due to a very rotten egg in the body shop industry, it was only partially painted and will need to be redone. It has a ways to go, but one day.....

The plan is for pearl white paint with pearl champagne below the lower moulding and currently undecided on interior color. I would like very subtle flames on the front, only visible in certain lighting. It has the original 307 with 350 trans.

Wish me luck! (send money!!) 8)

Welcome to ECC Major! Sounds like a nice project. Should be able to finish it a couple of months on a retired Majors pension, right sir?

Welcome to the board. I've been down that bodyshop BS road before. I feel your pain.

(send money!!)
Ha! Send me some first! Which reminds me,I'm up for adoption. I'm potty trained, don't scratch or naw on the furniture, and don't take up to much room. All you have to do is give me some money and you won't even notice that I'm around.

Welcome to ECC.
Nice to see someone with the same project.
Unfortunately I've just started restauration.
I'll be glad to have the frame back on the ground and rolling :-)
At the very moment it's out for sandblasting and zinc plating.
But after that is done I must have my garage restaurated first *lol*.
Good Luck
& best regards

Welcome Maj. I don't know about all that retired Major's pay, but at least it is an income eh!
I'm in the same situation on a restoration with a 74 Elky. The good thing is that I have plenty of time to get this done.
This is a Great Site with lots of experience and helpful folks.
Happy Holidays :xmas:
