I have an 87 elky, The tailgate rattles , Is there suppose to be any rubber or something in there to keep it from making that terrible noise. Mine has nothing. If so where and what can i get. Thanks

There is a rubber weatherstriping type piece that goes on each side of the tailgate, OPG sells them, i think they're only like 10-15 bucks for the pair.

Go get a 2 foot section of 5/8 or 3/4 hose. Cut it in half, then cut it down the middle longways. Slide the cut edge over the edge of the bed. It works great for me.
