75ElkySS 11-04-2006, 04:02 PM Hey guys. Just saying hi to all of you Camino-ers in Arizona. I just bought a 75 SS and cant wait to make her perfect. It has a 350 in it, rebuilt. As soon as my supra is sold it will be getting the Holley Systemax street System, putting out about 425hp. Then who knows from there. Glad to be part of the community :) oh yeah i live in Avondale.

GatorsElky 11-14-2006, 05:25 PM Wow!
Looks like alot of work.......
My Elky was a"Barn Car" when I found it but I didn't have to work as hard as you.
Anyway, welcome to ECC, sorry no one responded to your original post, it is a combination of not so many of us here in AZ (although you see Elky's all over the place) and life being to busy. I'm in Ahwatukee and I do a number of local cruise ins'. I'm sure I'll see you although by the look of your project it may take a few weeks. If you need help let us know and I'll be watching more often.
75ElkySS 11-15-2006, 10:57 PM hey thanks for the reply and its not as bad as it looks..most of it is all surface rust. i have most of it all grinded away it looks better already..yeah give me a few weeks and ill be on the road beatting up on ricers...lol and looking cool, but yeah there dont seem to be many guys here in Az but i saw like two caminos yesterday so i know there out there, like you said...but yeah ill keep you guys updated on how shes doing

I'm new to the site and figured there would be tons of members on this site for AZ and NM. I live in Far East Mesa and travel the 60 freeway every morning on my way to the airport and see several Elky's. Just picked up my first El Camino today after searching for years for the right one or right deal. I came across an 85 Elky (305) with 70 something thousand original miles from the original owner. Clean overall, needs some super cleaning thru out to make shine. Will post pics as soon as I get'r cleaned up.
Who has the best parts for our vehicles in the PHX area?

GatorsElky 12-21-2006, 06:22 PM Hello and Welcome Sy,
I am afraid the number of places to find Elky parts in Phoenix is not so many. Other than Chevy dealers for items that have not been discontinued I have found parts at Baseline Auto Recyclers in Mesa and a couple other junk yards.
I can help you with other sources though, let me know what you are looking for.

There are a few cruise in's you might enjoy. I do the one on Friday at Scouts in Mesa. I haven't been there in about 3 weeks though....too busy with holiday stuff.
azradrods99 12-21-2006, 08:58 PM Thanks for the warm welcome to the site. I finally was able to bring home my 85 Elky Conquista tonight. Overall condition is good. Needs a bit of heavy duty cleaning and she'll be ready to cruise the street.
There's a group of cruisers that gather at the KMart / Target parking lot on Power road, across from Superstition Mall. I've seen quite a crown during the summer and just last Friday about 9pm there was appx 20-30 hot rods.
Look forward to the Barrett Jackson show next month. Perhaps we can meet up.
Seasons Greetings
Sy

i just like posting pictures...step by step
75ElkySS 04-17-2007, 03:25 PM Umm those are pictures of just some primer i put on there so the metal doesn't oxidize before i can paint it, no front or rear bumper cause im in the process of making a rollpan for the rear (very hard lol) and i havent figured out the front yet. But the bumper is not going back on there, id rather drive around without it. They are pointless pictures, i was just bored lol
sara77classic 04-17-2007, 11:26 PM Random pictures are fun! :)
75ElkySS 04-19-2007, 11:55 PM true true true that

75ElkySS 04-24-2007, 11:29 AM yep thats the same elky....the same one as the rust bucket in my first posts, and thank you, i would have done alot more but money is what determines how much time it takes.
