Hey guys, I just picked up a new project and tore out the old 305 in my 83SS. I have a ZZ4 on the engine stand, but i want a suspension upgrade before i drop it in. What do you all suggest, where can i find parts and what brands seem to be good. Im looking at all new springs, shocks, bushings, the whole sha-bang. Any insights you all have would be great because i am new to the chevy-shopping, especially on 20 year old cars.
Thanks

They has been many posts on beefing up & making them handle. Boxed rear control arms with poly bushings, air bags in the rear springs, larger sway bar in the front & add one in the rear.

Hi, I am working on fixing up a 86 Elcamino. I droped a 390 hp 350 engine in mine and I put everything new up under my car to make sure it was going to be a smooth and safe ride. I went with Performance Suspension Technology. there web site is http://www.p-s-t.com/
You can find everything that you need there. You will not be dissapointed after you rebuild your Suspension. Mine rides smooth as hell
I went with the Polygraphite Super Kit, new coil springs for front and rear, front and rear sway bars, upper and lower trailing arm, new body monts, all Polygraphite bushings. you can check out my car at http://members.cardomain.com/elmino
Hope that this has helped you.

I went the exact same route as 86mino and got the same results. Excellent ride and handling. The complete P-S-T setup is the way to go. I also used Edelbrock IAS shocks all around. :)
