I am looking to put new wheels on my '78 El Camino. I can't decide between 16" or 17" rims. Is there any problems fitting 17" or is 16" the most practical? Thanks.

I think 17" wheels are a good choice as they allow you to fill the wheel well even when using high performance low profile tires.

I had actually thought about using the 16's up front and 17's in back but this would inhibit any rotation possiblities. Then again, using different size tires front and back even on the same size wheel would keep me from doing that also.

Looks good Mrapii! What size tires are you running?

wheel / tire size
front 8x17" with 225/45ZR17
rear 10x17 with 255/40ZR17
backspace on all 4 wheels is 4.5"

You could set this up as a Poll question. I'm running 17's, but bigger in the back. Rotate? What's that?

Take care.

The tires are 235/45/17 and 275/50/17 on 8.5" wheels.
