Midsize bowties site has a link and I joined, nice place you have here! Does anyone know if something is worng with thier site? I am shown to be a newbie there but the P/W has not been sent. There was no admin contact that I found. Anyway, my owner is a 77 that up until now I believed was an ss but found almost my exact vin except for sequence, they didn't give that part. heck they could have been one behind each other. :] Can someone tell me what separated the ss from the classic in that year? wouldn't mind some info on the cowl tag either. There was a forum on the MSBT site but I was denied. Oh well like I said before you have a nice site full of info. I haven't been all through the new member stuff yet, there is a lot of info here! Well that should do it for now.

This is from the 1977 showroom brochure:
"El Camino SS -- This sporty package for V8 models includes matching right- and left-hand outside mirrors, black or white body side striping, 15x7" Rally wheels, GR70-15 white-lettered steel-belted radial tires and SS identification on grill, fenders and tailgate. An all-vinyl interior with door trim panels in a special vinyl-covered pattern."
Swivel bucket seats and center console were extra cost options on all models.

I read the post on the ss option. Good info! Where or what is the number or thingy that tells me whether it is or isn't and if isn't what is? Anybody with me so far? :) Again thanks and hey if you are a 4th gen like me lets talk!
