I see everyone trying to put bigger wheels and tires on their elkys.

I just want to put bigger tires on the stock 14x6 rims. From the searchs I have done it appears 235/60 or 65 - 14s are the largest I can put on my stock 14x6 wheels.

Elky is an 83 Conquista...can anyone confirm this will work with no rubbing or wheel fitment problems. I thought about 225s.

Please comment. Thanks

I had the same tire/ wheel combo on my 79 Cutlass, and had no problems. The El Camino should be the same way.

Is the suspension stock?

HEY BIGDOG,
I HAVE THE SAME TIRE SIZE IN MY '79 EC. THEY FIT THE BODY GREAT BUT THE HANDLING REALY SUCK. I THINK THE 14X7 RIM ISN'T WIDE ENOUGH OR THE TIRES AREN'T STIFF IN THE SIDEWALL AREA.
I'M LOOKING INTO MICHELIN 205 OR 215 70'S BECAUSE STIFFER SIDEWALLS.
JUST MY CENTS :?
