hi all:
quick question for all u experts out there....i'm ordering some suspension pieces for my '72 and i've been told the car may have come originally with round or oval bushings. i can't check it myself right now because the car is in its' winter home. anyone know what the cars typically came with? does it matter if ur replacing all the bushings anyway and don't care if its concours? and if the car should have, say, round in front would it also likely have round in back? i'd like to figure this so i can order my parts all at once. thanks...

OH YEA, rear bushings on lower front control arms could be round OR oval!!!

I've seen both, no real ryhme or reason to it either, better go look before you order them.

The general rule is prior to 70 they're all round and later model SS units normally are round but this is NOT written in stone !!!

REMEMBER, it's the rear bushing on the front lower control arm that may be oval !!! All the front ones are round

ur right, makes no sense....why would GM do that? that's a question that probably doesn't have an answer...i'm sure they had supply of both types and just stuck in whatever happened to b handy on any given day....just another mystery and another thing for us to make mistakes with 30-odd years later!!!
