: Which Inside Spring Compressor???

There are inside spring compressors with differently-shaped hooks; one type of hook is a generic type, shaped just like a J, like this one:

The other type of hook is shaped so as to fit more snugly around the spring wire, like this one:

It seems to me that one of these, I can't rember which, has hooks so long that they interfere with the spring tower inside the frame and that makes the compressor real hard to use since it then has to be placed in the middle of the spring, meaning you have to REALLY compress the spring to get it short enough.

Does anyone rember which of these works best on our A/-G-bodies??? Thanks!

The one I have looks like your bottom picture and it works just fine.

This is my KD Tools internal spring compressor model KD2526.

I can't figger this out. The ones in my two pix are supposed to be KD models 2528 and 3088. And you say yours is a 2526. If you look on the KD web site, the only one listed that I could find is a 3450.

So I have to wonder just why they seem to keep making new models????

Both of them should work fine for installing the springs, and it is much quicker removing the springs by cutting them with a torch before removing any parts.
