Problems
The window alignment keeps changing and I can't figure it out.
If I roll the window up when the door is open and I close it the window usually it is lined up and seals pretty good. If anything it is outboard a bit at the B pillar. But if I then start driving and roll the window down for any reason when it comes back up it it is almost aways outboard 1/4 - 1/2 inch along the whole top and front edge and won't close past the top front plastic guide to seal with the rubber. Rolling the window up and down while I'm driving doesn't seem to help even if I pull or yank the glass inward while I'm rolling it back up. The glass seems firm it the door harware when it is up. Inevitabley I seem to have to stop the car, open the door and roll it back down and up to get it to seal again.
What's up with that?
Any body else had this isse? What controls this allignment and how can I adjust it inward to correct?
Thanks!!

Best I remember there is some adjustments inside the doors. Remove the panels and look at the track mechanism, ether along the bottom or along the track there are some screws that determine some of the angles or adjustments. It really has been a while since I messed with the window track other than removing them.
It would possibly not be a bad idea at that point, if you do that, to use some lithium grease in the tracks and inspect the rollers too. You can replace them I'm pretty sure of that, if they're worn really bad.

I'll bet the plastic retainer on the window is broken.
There is a pin on the door that points straight down. It's located at the back of the door. It goes into a plastic piece that's riveted to the glass. The plastic piece breaks overtime and the glass no longer pulls in properly.
Also check the rollers and all oterh places for slop. Lots of mechanical things to cause problems on these windows. I have a few bags of rollers if you need any. They pop on and off. They can also be used on later B-body cars in place of the square sliders. The square ones break easily (designed to).

I checked and you are right. The plastic retainer is broken. Do you know if this a part that can be easily purchased and if so where other than a dealer? I haven't had a chance to check the rollers yet.

The dealer should have them in stock. I usually have a few but I don't think I have any. They aren't expensive.
Some years it's riveted to the door and others it's fastened wuth goofy large flanged bolts and nuts. Looks like a big washer with holes in it for a spanner wrench.
I have had good luck replacing it with 1/4 28 bolts and washers or those goofy fasteners.
Be careful. The door glass is very brittle. I had one shatter in my hand when I picked it up. Just squeezed it right I guess.
I'm not a fan of frameless doors. The windors can be a real pain.

Mine is an 82 and they are rivited so I assume I will have to drill them out and rivet them back in.

You can bolt them on if you want. As long as the hardware doesn't interfere with anything it'll work fine.
I don't like riveting to windows as the factory had different tools than we do.
I use 1/4 28 bolts grade 8. I actually use allot of aircraft hardware in stuff like this. The fine thread is better for this type of stuff. It just works better.

Here is a picture of that plastic bracket and the rollers.
The small rollers snap on but the larger one has to be peened on kinda like a tarp grommet.
