Region 12


I would like to introduce myself; I am Mike Streets, Region 12 director. I am sure that there are more than 60 members signed up in Region 12, although there is not a sure way to know everyone’s location. I am planning to do an El Camino show in Wichita, Kansas in September of 2004. For this to be a successful show there would need to be at least 40 El Camino’s at the show. I would like to get everyone in the Region to give me some input on this idea. It takes considerable time and work to put together a show so I would like to know how many members would attend. If no one is interested in doing a large El Camino show then there is no point in doing the work to set one up. Please let me know if you would like to be a part of this idea. If you have ideas or suggestions please let me know, I can use all the help I can get, let me know.

I'll go... Provide I'm not deployed to another country in Sept of 2004.
My suggestion would be to look at the cars pamplet and pick a date.
I'm also up for 8 May 04 at O'Rielly's on S. Broadway in Wichita KS.

Great to see that you got on board, the forms are full of good information and everyone here is very helpful. I am sure that you will find this site a good source of information. With any luck we will put togather a mini show, meet and greet on south Broadway in May. Maybe we can get some of the Region 12 members to come out of the wood work and join us for this get togather.

yeah I would go, but by that time my elky won't be show material. this summer i plan for a body restore. and it won't be painted by september. If i am able to go I will drive it their but probably not put it in the show.

I don't have a show ready car but will attend, if. I have two weddings to attend the last two weekends in a row so the date will depend on my participation. If not a "car show", maybe a big get-together would be nice, too. Show off some "works-in-progress" cars or parts swap, also.

OK, looks like it is a go for a meet and greet/mini show with the local Chevelle Owners (WACO). As soon as I get everything together I will post it. So far I can tell you that the date will be Saturday May 8th 2004 at O'Reilly Auto Parts (Next to Dillons Supermarket) 4635 South Broadway in Wichita, Kansas. The will be in the week of the annual Wichita River Festival (Another reason to come to Wichita). It will be sponsored by O'Reilly Auto Parts and the Wichita Area Chevelle Owners. There help and support will be what make this event possible. When every thing is set up I will post all the information, in the meantime, set your schedules to try to make this event. You don't need a show car to be at this event, bring your El Camino, meet the other folks in Region 12 and in Wichita. Everyone who will be there just loves classic Chevelles and El Camino's, so come on and be part of this event. More information to come as soon as I can get things set up, Thanks!!

may 8 i'll be there also the possible show in sept have you got a place picked out yet if not let me know. See what i can do might be able to secure a parking lot with space for 40 or so cars.
