: Looking For a Clean El Camino or Caballero, 1978-87

I'd prefer 82-87 but will consider all 78 & up. Would like something either pretty original or something pretty well done that doesn't need much. Not looking for a big project to tackle but will consider an unrestored original faded paint vehicle, body must be clean. Can be stock or modified. Will consider anything meeting my criteria from $600 to $6000, maybe more for the right "special" vehicle.

Distance is no object if the price is right. I would actually prefer something from the Southwest or West Coast if possible, though not necessary.

Will pay more for SS, Choo Choo's, IROC/Lumina conversions, Black Knight, Royal Knight, Diablo, etc.

Prefer something loaded if possible, but not necessary.

Prefer V8 but will take 4.3 V6.

Prefer Buckets/Console, but not necessary.

Prefer Overdrive Automatic but not necessary.

Must be able to send detailed pics & VIN# (on '81 and up.)

May consider trading down my '84 Monte SS (too much to list but 383 Lingenfelter/Accel SuperRam'd, roller block, Callies 4340 chrome moly steel crank, Oliver rods, Wiseco, AFR cast billet heads, Cheater direct port, Moroso Accusump, Borla XR1, stainless exhaust, Art Carr 200-4R internals, 10 & 11" converters, etc, over $15,000 in driveline, off road for last 7 years, around 52,000 original miles but needs resto; never driven in winter.)

Not sure if you got my email.....

Just checking to see if you got the pics?

Sorry, NO, I didn't receive your e-mail/pics I don't think. I looked at your album, that's a pretty clean Camino. I really didn't want to spend big bucks on a past owner's name/fame though. That's Choo Choo pricing. Is there anything else otherwise special about it?

No, just very clean and in great shape......if you got another one, by the time you fixed it up to this level, you would be at or past the price I am asking...

Here are a couple of el caminos that would be close in price, plus you need to do some stuff to them....

Thanks... but for that money I'd prefer something like this:

or this:

I think you're really trying hard to justify yours though...

then buy one of the ones you just showed us

Thanks, I may call on the white one tomorrow. I'm already negotiating on a black Choo Choo from TX for less.

I was just hoping to find a member's car, it may be easier to complete a transaction with someone here safer.

Don't get me wrong, zoo's car looks really nice, it's just that to me it's not as valuable as to him. Maybe if it was an SS or something or had buckets/console or something else. If price was considerably lower, of course that would be a different story.

To be honest ss was just a trim package on 5th gens
I dont think that you will find much better for the price than zoo's interior is great paint is excellent but that is just my advice

thanks "JRSoct24", I am not hurting for money, but if the right person comes along, I would sell it....I enjoy having the car...
