Just a simple question for the simple minded.... Where should I look on a TH 400 trans to find where it was stamped with the VIN # and date code? The vehicle in question is a 1970 Elky SS 396.

hi you will find the code for your t400 on the right hand vertical surface of the transmission case.good luck.
