OK, it is time to get some talk going in Arizona!

The Barrett - Jackson auction was a real Kick. It was alot of fun watching the "Super Snake" sell for 5.5M but none of us got to meet.

I think it is time to hear from good El Camino folks like:

AZRADRODS99
JKINAZ
HEATSOAKED
SARA77CLASSIC ( hope Eric is Better)
JKINAZ
76ELCAMINO
GEORGE
75ELKYSS

AZRADRODS99 & 75ELKYSS have been spinnin' wrenches......you guys need to update us on how your work is coming along.

I think the last posts I saw were from HEATSOAKED who put together a great exhaust system !

Anyway, the holidays are over and yes, we all are still trying to pay off Christmas and can't afford working on our cars too much. I know it is tough to work on Elkies in the cold since we even had snow in Phoenix however, we need to all get updated, so...... lets hear your stories.

I wish I could say I've been doing some productive work on my El Camino, but the only wrenchin' I've been doing on it has been to take the alternator off and move it to my 65 suburban so I could drive it to get some new plug wires for my Camino because a pack rat had eaten the coil to distributor wire and 2 plug wires.

I took my El Camino out on the roads after the snow,we got 2 inches here. Everytime I stopped on ice or packed snow and started moving again the rear wheels would spin and have trouble getting traction. And that was with a full gas tank and 2 inches of snow in the back. I am so glad I don't live where there is a lot of snow and ice.

GatorsElky,

Do you go to the drags (NHRA)? I plan on driving the elky to firebird in three weeks to watch the big boys run. Maybe we can hook up. Have you ever heard of "Midnight at the Oasis"? It's a huge car show here in Yuma every Feb. It has gotten so big and popular that they restrict it to 800 cars. They are all pre 72 and it is one awesome show, well worth the trip from Phoenix.

Well I live close enough that I get all the sound from the drags that I can stand. Typically I do not go out to Firebird very often. Let me know the date and maybe I can get out there to meet you.

I have heard of the "Oasis" show however, I've never been down for it. I see the dates for this show is March 2~4. I have been traveling alot for work and doubt that I'll make it ( I think I'll be in NJ Brrrrrrr!).

Get back with me on the Firebird date and perhaps with your post we may get other people interested.

Yay! I'm still alive. We moved and I didn't have internet forever :( Sad.

My little baby is doing good. She's still at the inlaws house. After the oil squirting disaster, she sat for a while until I "fixed" it with some super glue....
I'm still looking for a long-term fix for that. But lack of knowledge and money have led me elsewhere lol

Now sadly enough her battery is dead. (It's the one that came with the car...I have no idea how old it is.) Which is why she's across town. Plus we have no where to put her at our new house until we remove this random tree stump on the side of our property. It's finally getting above freezing up here so we're gonna start sanding her down pretty soon. Probably won't get her painted for a while, but atleast paint won't fly off while I'm going down the highway...haha.

THen after that we're going to tackle the dash, (I'm sure I'll need lots of help from you guys!) and then it'll be...done..well good enough for me anyways ;)

Well....there you are! We haven't heard from Sara since about September.

We trust that Evan is doing well and has bounced back very well. I'll bet by now he is ready to finish with that oil pressure line. :-P I don't think super glue can stand up to oil pressure for very long !

Anyway, we are glad you are back on and we will hope that a new battery comes your way soon.

Leave that back window closed and we will watch for more news from you.

:)

We were talking with my brother in law tonight and he's gonna help us with the restoration. We're gonna start the sanding really soon. He's gonna rip off the rails and the toe hitch and all that other stuff.

He actually offered to buy my baby for 2 grand! I would have made quite the profit, but I can't get rid of her :(
