OK, technically this would fall under the category of Ebay but when you see what this guy's reserve is I would put it under the category of you're not serious...are you?

8) To give the guy a little slack. Some will put a high reserve in the description to stop all the tire kickers from emailing and asking what it is. Then they take what it will bid up to or their real reserve.

the only visible bondo is on the front passenger fender.
This would scare me a little.

As has been mentioned on this site many times, the popularity of the El Camino is rising and as it dose the pricing will go up.
Now as to the price of the subject vehicle, I would not go there but as stated before you will get what someone well pay. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder.

JUST A LITTLE NOTE ! I know of 3 Elky's that have sold in the Gulf Coast of Florida in the last year that were very much like the one shown in this post. I looked at one and the other two were looked at by people I know. The worst one sold for 1500.00 and the better of the 3 went for 2200.00. One car was a 68 SS by vin # and the 69 was a Daytona yellow car at birth with makes it a real SS also. Both cars were purchased for the SS and the Vin number to make a good registration when complete. One is done and resold already going to Calif and it sold for 27,000.00 plus shipping and was restored all stock and correct. The only down side to this car was a 396/325 HP none matching numbers. If it would have benn a 396/375 rebuild it would have made it to 30k I think! The numbers matcing engine was there but could not be saved by anyone!

I agree skinnyfisher but you made my point without realizing it. Any SS in rough but rebuildable shape will go for a lot because it's an SS. The ad I posted made no mention of being an SS. The seller just thinks because it's an old Elky that it's obviously a gold mine. Looking at that one and probably having a good idea of what he doesn't mention to be wrong with it. Not that i'm i'm a qualified Elky appraiser but from what I see I wouldn't give him a dime over $400 and that's just for some salvagable parts...maybe.

I had a person from a local restoration shop offer to buy my 72. Presently it doesn't have engine, transmission and I've pulled the rear end off it so it's basically just sitting on blocks in the shop yard. He offered me what I thought was a high dollar amount, I wouldn't have made the same offer. It was over $2,000.00 for essentially a shell of a car/truck but it's a good place to start. I didn't take it because I want to keep it and when I'm finished with the 80 I'll start on it but there is interest in 72 and earlier model cars and trucks and has been for a while.
This one came to me free of charge I just had to haul it home. I thanked him for the offer but told him no. He did some talking, seems a Doctor in the D/FW area wants one and he saw mine and figured by it's shape I'd probably be willing to dump it. He would restore it to original, or as much as possible, it's a 240 Hp 402 (LS3) originally which actually was a 396 bored .030. After that he'd sell it to the good Doctor for the cost of restorations and some profit that he wasn't going to talk about. This one is my only Muscle Car Era model. Besides, it is my Elky. I may not be working on it yet but I will get around to it and it will get done. I'm sure some day, my family will sell it but not till I'm gone.
I see that man that made me the offer the same as a "Day Trader" in stocks. Just there to sell someone something at as much profit as possible. It is just different for me. Some people do. I made an offer on a 1953 delivery truck about 5 years ago to a person. I've always wanted one. It was in worse shape than most anything I've ever even attempted to work on, most would have considered it at best a parts car. I offered them what I considered a fair price, 1,500.00. They wanted 5,000.00! So as someone else pointed out, it's worth just as much as someone will be willing to pay for it. Needless to say I didn't get the 53 delivery...
