Was quite pleased to find this forum, for so many times I have felt like a cork in the sea of restoration questions and problems.
Elky has been put away for the winter, however she is about 98% finished (for this year :-D ). She is a mild custom with a 1980 350 cu in small block, gassed with a set of dual quad Edelbrocks. Lots of work and lots of fun.
Any other members concentrating on the '59-'60 'meanos'?? Anyone else live in the frozen tundra of WI ??
Attached is a pix of Elky at the "Back to the 50's" gathering located at the fair grounds in St. Paul, MN. Usually several 'meanos' can be found. Hope you like.

I saw that you created an album in the first gen area. I'd like to ask that you submit a couple of pics for the calendar also. My favs are the 1st and 6th ones in your album.

85-ss-elky, Alchemist, and Poltergeist:
Hey, thanks for the nice comments. This has been a real labor of love.
My nephew is a real 'stickler' for detail within and on the vehicle. His comment of: "Hey unk, better change the lenses, cause they have some visible stress cracks" was not expected. Although he was right as long as you are using a magnifying glass. Lens kit has been installed which was ordered from Impala Bob's. As previously mentioned, it is approximately 98% finished this year. A real work in progress.
Poltergeist, could you PM me, for I have several questions about the Gallery. Thanks.

Ernie and Mike: Thanks for the comments and welcome. Glad to have found such a great forum.
Laura: Was over at the Good Guys 13th Great Lakes Nationals in Waukesha, WI in September. Found my '59 at Sparta, WI many years ago and has been a continuous labor of love.
Maybe an El Camino regional get together sometime in the Spring/Summer of 2004. That would be fun. El Caminos are usually a crowd pleaser especially since the next generation of drivers are preparing to obtain their licenses.
I'm located in the Fox River Vally Area.

Welcome doc. You have one gorgeous Elky. I used to think I was rare to love such an "odd" vehicle. Half car, half truck. I thought few shared this love for this forgotten ultimate SUV. Then I found ECC. Enough said...
