I just found out about your council and I think what your doing is great for all us collector car people.
My friend told me about your site after I was complaining about getting in my new registration window
sticker for my 67 Camaro Show Car. The car has Early American plates on it but I still got the big lime green
window sticker. I was wondering what to do now? I haven't put it on the car yet, has this happened to anyone else?
I'm hopping I can just go to the DMV and exchange it for the small sticker that goes on the license plate.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Keep up the good work
Respectively,

Garry:
Attached is the letter from DMV regarding the windshield stickers. Also included below is one of our members successful attempt at getting a plate sticker.

Copy attached for the website.
Dave and Paul,
The head of the Mansfield Police Department told me the letter we have is the latest information and he confirmed that Early American registrations should have a license plate sticker rather than a windshield sticker. This morning I went to the Willimantic DMV office and the guy in charge also confirmed this. He said there is confusion over what registrations get what sticker (sounds like someone did a poor job of communication within DMV) and he gave me two license plate stickers in exchange for the windshield stickers. I didn't think to ask him what someone should do if they already applied the windshield sticker, but I'm sure the DMV will still give that person a license plate sticker. (What's the harm in having both and the windshiedl sticker will self destruct upon removal.) My suggestion is that anyone who got a windshield sticker contact their local DMV for instructions. Perhaps we might put the letter on our web site so anyone can print it. By the way, the guy at Willimantic DMV suggested I carry a copy of the letter in the car.
