Howdy Vincent!
Glad you found us! Welcome to ECC/NECOA...
Chopping the Elky, man that takes away head room. I'm not real tall but I'm tall enough, I already feel like I don't have enough head room in the Elky I don't think I'd chop it. Maybe if I decided to lower the floor pans by the amount of chop I was removing from the top.
I don't know too many people who have done that. I can't offer any pictures. I did want to say Hi and Welcome.

Welcome Vincent! Most of us have never seen a chopped el camino. Please post a few photos so our members can see what you are starting with and perhaps offer some advice. Have you sat in it and checked out the head room?? Glad to have you with us!

Welcome to ECC-Necoa. Good luck with you're chopped Elky. Not many people chop Elkys, so you're probably gonna have a hard time finding pics. I love old school hot rods chopped, but to me the Elky is one that just shouldn't be. However if you like it than that's all that matters.

Welcome!
Look forward to seeing the chopped pics. I couldn't chop mine if I wanted to. I had to remove the gun rack that was in it when I bought mine because I kept banging my head getting in.

Vincent,
I admit I wasn't too thrilled with the thought of a "chopped" El Camino when I first read the post.
However, after seeing the pictures, it appears the work (at least from the photo's provided) wasn't butchered, and "I Like It!"
I think this will be the first one I have ever seen, at least I don't remember any others. So, keep us informed, and plenty of pictures.
It's growing on me - I really like the idea. . . . 8)
