blue81elcamino 02-20-2007, 08:41 PM I have no idea what was in there mind when they painted up that el camino. It was at a repair shop the carbuerator was messed up, he said after he got it running he was going to have it painted. Ha they would have charged him 10 grand to paint it. I ground off all that paint with a D.A. and 40 grit sand paper. Me and my friend were out driving one night at 3 in the morning and i just happened to see this el camino. we turned around and looked at it the paint was a mess but it had a great body. so the next day i went back to the repair shop and asked them if it was for sale, they gave me the owners number and i called him. I went back bought it trailered it home, everyone that passed it was pointing and laughing. When its done people will be pointing but not laughing. :D

purpelcam69 02-24-2007, 10:19 AM Looking good Blue81. I had my 69 painted a beautiful purple color called "Deep Amythist". Unfortunately it's a Chrysler color from maybe 98. I first saw it on Durangos and Mini Vans. Even though it's not a GM color, it sure gets alot of compliments, people think it's a custom color. I will try to post some pics when the NJ winter goes away. Good luck with your ride, and keep posting pics.
blue81elcamino 02-24-2007, 10:26 AM Well got some more painting done here's the pics.

Tonight we painted the fender to bumper fillers, the long peice that bolts on the bumper, the body to tailgate filler and the little fillers that are bolted to the car by the hump things on the back. I will get some pictures of those up soon.
Camino LS6 03-19-2007, 06:58 AM Those wheels look great!
Maddening 03-20-2007, 03:20 AM Those wheels look great!
They do look slick! Where'd you get the tri wing center cap to fit the Olds wheel? I have the same wheel in a 15x7", not sure what Olds they are from, guy I got them from said Hurst something and they were gold. I didn't think much else would fit that weird center so I stuck the Olds caps back on.
blue81elcamino 03-25-2007, 08:49 PM Here is the picture of the filler panels painted.I have started block sanding the el camino, and this weekend i got a bunch of stuff for it at a carshow i got black seat belts and all kinds of goodys.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/81elcamino/IMAG02005.jpg
I have started putting my interior back together thats what i will be working on for the next few days. I will post some pics when i get everything together. and the wheels i have are 15X7's the spinner i got from the center guy at a carshow those type of spinners will fit they are real easy to find anyone that sells center's should have them. theyre no size in particular they have set screws that tighten onto the wheel.
Lcamino67 03-26-2007, 12:14 AM That is gonna look sweet when your done . Keep up the good work
