Mike
MJwrabbit 02-23-2007, 06:11 AM Awesome Mike!
There seems to be a lot of competition for that "Best Club" award. You guys only missed it by one vehicle last year. I'd love to see you reclaim it this year!!!! Come on guys, what do you say? 8)
See you then! :D
mgs72elky 08-22-2007, 06:34 PM As most of you 'regulars' know, that's too much of a hike for me. Now, if one of you were willing to tow my Elk while I laid in the back.......Naw, too bumpy. Enjoy the show guys, I'll be there in spirit......
MJwrabbit 08-23-2007, 05:41 AM Thanks for bringing this up 87ElCamino! :D I am running the show this year and I am trying my hardest to make it the best yet! Can't do it without your help though. Participants make the show!
Remember, it all goes to a worthy cause, Merrimack Valley Hospice! 8)
MJwrabbit 08-30-2007, 12:44 PM 106.3 Frank FM is giving away ZZ Top tickets at our show!!!

MJwrabbit 09-06-2007, 05:40 AM Yes, we are praying that the rain holds off til at least 5. I don't even care if it's cloudy. Just no rain falling.
mgs72elky 09-10-2007, 10:52 AM Hey Guys, How'd you folks make out at this show? Did many of you make the ride up? I hope you folks managed to dodge the storms. It was a beautiful start to the day, so I ended up going to a small local show, and of course we got poured on, not once, but twice. As hard as I searched, would you believe, I couldn't find 15 guys with umbrellas to hold over my car. Hope you guys faired better. MJwrabbit, I've never been to this show of yours, but I've heard all the guys say what a great show you all put on. Surely hope it went well.
MJwrabbit 09-10-2007, 12:30 PM Thanks for asking. :) We missed everyone but certainly understand. The weather definately played a part in attendance. However, we had about 100 cars (used to 300+) and about 6 or 7 vendors (had 16 signed up) show up despite the weather. It downpoured at about 6:00a.m. and then again at 9:30a.m.. I will be posting pics on our website of the show and of everyone huddled under all the canopies during the downpour!!! :) We had a couple of cell phones with radar on them going to see if the rain was going to stop. Trophy announcements were started about 1:30. I had to rush a bit in the announcements as I was trying to get everyone out of there before the next downpour. Which the weather gurus were telling me it was on the way. We had everything broken down and packed up by about 3:00 just before the rain came down again. Also, in time to see the plane that landed on route 3 N!!! It had caused quite a show itself. Coupled with the rain, the curiosity factor was in play on Rt 3 S.
We are in process of tallying the money and hope to at least break even with expenses. I will be so happy with whatever we can give Hospice. I feel so bad as we work so hard all year on this show to give them as much as we can. I wish we could have topped last years donation. As much as I tried, I just couldn't control the weather. :(
All in all it was a great show despite the weather! I think everyone went home happy! We had raffles and giveaways galore! I can't believe how much stuff we had! We tried something new this year called a Country Store raffle. It seemed to be a hit! A few items at that table were a jacket from Summit Racing, Limited Edition/numbered framed car posters, Chevy floor mats, gift baskets of bath items, food items and a movie basket complete with movie and lots of goodies! Our giveaway table was LOADED!!!! I can't even begin to list what was there. Everything from restaurant gift certificates to windshield wash.
We are already planning for next year. I have scheduled a show committee meeting for October. Next years show is going to be better than ever! Mark your calendars! Typically, it's the Sunday after Labor Day weekend. In 2008 that should be Septmember 7th. I'll post it as soon as we nail down the date with the school campus.
el Bandido 09-10-2007, 08:09 PM We were all set for another great show in Nashua, too... Heidi kept saying "check the weather" "check the weather" "maybe we should take a chance and go anyway"
WELL ... We too are really looking forward to next year ----- already

mgs72elky 09-10-2007, 08:46 PM Tommy, Er, three posts? We hear ya, we hear ya, we hear ya. Heh, heh. I just might make that Desantis show Tom. Anybody else??
MJwrabbit 09-11-2007, 05:44 AM Thank you everyone. I know you tried and I don't blame you, the weather was just too much. :( Definately next year!!! We'll put in our order early for sunny skies! :D
Dan DeSantis is a really nice guy, puts on a fun show and the proceeds from his show go to Dana Farber. So, it's definately worth going. I'll probably be working the registration desk. Be sure to come by and say hi!
I appreciate the support for my friends at the NECOA! :-D
LeoC2 09-11-2007, 10:16 AM I was actually thinking of coming up for that show, a good friend lives in Nashua, we went to college together in Antrim. I used to live in Hillsboro back in the early 70's. I'm definitely planning on coming next year.
Just curious, wasn't there a rain date for the show?
MJwrabbit 09-11-2007, 10:48 AM This show is rain or shine.
From what I'm told, this has been the worse rain they have gotten in the 26 years the show has been put on. :(
Look forward to meeting you next year! 8)
83NHElky 09-12-2007, 01:05 PM I did show, with my tent. My father inlaw came with his 65 Chevy c10 and my son Phil drove Wendy's 83 Z28. I was the only Elky and my father inlaw had about 8 trucks in the two wheel drive class. The Camaro had only 3 cars in the class. Needless to say I got a 1st, my father inlaw also a 1st and my son runner up. As the weather was poor we left the ladies home and gouged on the hamgurgers and hotdogs. All in all it was a nice day togther with the guys. We haven't been to may shows this year as I have been travelling and getting home projects completed.

I just logged all the registration sheets today and noticed the NECOA club name! Thank you all for coming! Sorry that I was not able to go around and see everyone as much this year. I guess that is one bad thing about running the show. You don't get to stop and talk to people as much. :( However, now that I have a better idea what needs to be done, I should have more time next year! 8)
