I am trying to get some type of dual exahaust system which goes to the bumper (right now it stops short of the axle, not safe with all the holes)
Who is a good supplier of this sort of thing? I want it to be relatively quiet and a complete header exhaust system mght be nice as long as it bolts right in. Right now the factory manifold is still on the 350 4bbl.
OPG seems to have one in an old ctalog I have but I don't see one in the present one. Does anybody know of other sources for the exhaust?
Thanks for looking

I put a Complete Exhaust system (Header to bumper) on the 76 and the 80 using Flowmaster's set up. For the 80 I ordered it without mufflers and used a different set but still FlowMaster. I have had some problems with the "H" pipe on the 76. I have had to have it re-welded several times. Could be that it is in a bind under the truck but it doesn't look like it is.
It is just about 2" short of coming completely out the back on the 76 and about 2" too long on the 80. So for the 76 I got some chrome tips. It is 2.5" aluminized pipe and in my opinion they sound alright. It comes with 30 series mufflers if you get it with the mufflers in the package. It is pretty simple to install and has most all the hardware you going to need, mandrel bends and two sets of end pipes. Angle cut or turn downs.
So that is what I did.

Thanks Elky Pete. Where is a good place to buy the flowmaster system for the Elky Summit? or JC. Whitney? or?

I ordered both of mine through Jegs. I like Jegs because other than a 7.00 service fee you don't pay for shipping costs unless it is an oversized item and generally the prices are a little bit lower than Summit's. J.C. Whitney I only use for little piddly stuff but they have a bunch of it.
Another good place for finding little piddly stuff like clips and fasteners and the like is http://www.atrim.com but then I digress. :D
Borla makes the best, that I know of, mufflers but the FlowMasters are fine too and look to me like pretty heavy duty stuff.
You will need to drill about 4 or five holes total to install the system. I put the 76's system in laying on my back on the ground. The 80 I had the pleasure of doing standing up, it didn't have a body on it at the time so it was super easy.

Does Borla make an exhaust kit that would work on the 73 elky?

On my 74 with a big block, I stayed with the factory manifolds to reduce the noise and heat, even though I know I lose a little horsepower. I had a local muffler shop bend the pipes all the way back, including the "H" pipe, over the axles and to the back bumper, even with the factory "hump" at the bumper. The only thing I had to do was trim the end of the pipes so they had the "factory" ends. I used a die grinder to cut the pipe parallel to the ground like factory pipes were done. I've had several people ask me where I got the "factory" pipes. For 2 1/2" all the way back, it cost me about $225, including 2 1/2" in and out "factory" mufflers which still leaves it louder than I would like. The only problem was that it took about 3 tries before they got the H pipe leak free. Seems to me that if you're OK back to where you're at, the cheapest way is to have a shop bend the pipes from the mufflers back to the bumper. I've got Borla stainless on my daily driver, a 97 T-Bird, and they're great, but when I checked Borla for the El Camino a few years ago, they didn't list anything.

I'm still very happy with my new American Thunder Flowmaster system on my '70. 2 1/2 inch system with 50 series mufflers & the H pipe and cool 3 inch stainless steel tips. Bought mine from Summit for around $325.
