I was wondering when and where there would be elcamino shows. I would love to spend the day with my dad and enter his camino. He takes his camino out of storage in the spring and then we could spend a day together going to an elcamino show. He usual goes to car shows but I don't think that he has ever been to an ElCamino show. I am in windsor ON Canada, so somewhere close enough for us to drive.
Thank You for any info you have to offer.

Hey Janine, I hope your Dad reads your post. I think it's fantastic you wanting to spend quality time with your Dad. Don't know how they do things up north, but I've never been aware of an 'El Camino' show in and of itself. Some of the better shows have an El Camino class in them. Many don't. With the Elky being so unique, it can be entered in several classes. Such as: 2 wheel drive truck, or street machine, or one of the year specific 'classic' classes. But just getting out there with your Pop, in any class, makes you a winner already. Enjoy...

Hi Janine,
One option that's not too far a drive is the Can-Am fall meet in Stratford this September. They always get a large Elky turn out at there Grand Island show so this meet should produce similar results.

The only serious shows have an El Camino class, the only one you can count on as always having that class and judging correctly and even giving the Elky's a far look in the specialty awards area is "SUPER CHEVY SHOWS". they have big name sponsors and travel the entire country from Feb to Oct. every year, this is there 27th year with 18 stops. Go to there site www.superchevyshow.com and see if one of the northern stops is close enough for you to travel to. I do the 2 shows in Florida and one in Georga when I can. I have some pictures from the Oct 06 and the Feb o7 shows in the gallery for cars shows page 7. There site is very good and will tell you how the classes are determined and all about the show. They show the winners and highlights from all shows for all chevy models for every show for the last year. I only wish I had my dad to take to a show "do it" the memories will last for ever.

Any "ACES" event will have a class/classes for elkys too, thru 3rd gens anyway, some do include the later models too.

The Can-Am chevelle meet is an ACES meet and always has an El Camino class but I think the time Janine spends with her father at the show is a higher priority than how it's judged.

My dad has gone to car shows every year before my step mom of 20 years and him split up. It was a bad break up and I dont think he has gone since they split. They arent"elcamino" shows but they do have some elcaminos there. I have never gone with him though because my step mom and I well we werent the best of friends lol. So I am hoping to get him back out there and to have him enter his car this year doesn't matter what his car is judged or placed as long as we can go together and do something we will both love with the people we love.
