Ok, there's this thin, hard plastic vacuum (I assume) line that attaches to a vacuum device on the heater core water line a few inches in front of the firewall. The line in question dissapears behind the passanger front wheelwell. I broke this line when I pulled my engine, (in 2 places) can I splice / patch this line or do I need to replace the whole thing?

Thanks

Frank

You can splice it. I had the same thing happen to me while working on my '80 Elco. I ended up getting some vacuum line just large enough to fit over the plastic tubing. I then got some shrink wrap like for electrical wiring. I placed the shrink wrap over the vacuum line, then placed each broken end of the plastic tubing into the vacuum line, and then heated up the shrink wrap to seal it all. It worked great and held up well.

Thanks, I'll try that as soon as it gets back from paint.
