hey guys,
could i fit a 4 barrel carb on my stock manifold? I have a 1973 with a 350. It came stock with a 2 barrel. Will i need an adaptor to fit the 4 barrel on the 2 barrel manifold?
If i need a whole new manifold, im thinkin about gettin an edelbrock air gap manifold. how do you guys like those?
any other suggestions?
thanks

You can use the maifold by using an adaptor. You'd have to buy one that fits your carb and manifild. This is the cheaper route, but you can run into some problems. You've got to be really careful about hood clearance if you go this way. I've got the 2 barrel rochester on a 4 barrel intake, and needed to switch the lid on my air cleaner to clear with the adaptor.

If you can spare the money, you'd probably be better off in the long run going with a new manifold. You won't have clearence issues and you'll get better perfromance.

You could probably buy a good used 4 bbl manfold off someplace like Ebay for less than the adapter, and it would probably give you less headaches.
