Our el Camino has drum front brakes. The hard lines come out to the frame bracket. Flex hose goes to the bracket on the "A" arm. Hard pipe goes from here to the slave cylinder. The cylinder on the car takes the pipe with the inverted flare. The Prenco, Wagner wheel cylinders don't have the inverted flare insert and appear to take a bolt on setup similar to the disc brake cars. I'm trying to find out what I should have on this truck. After 34 years who knows what has been changed around. I would have thought that Chevelle and el Camino would have been the same.....but. :(

i would think the wheel cylinders should take a standard doulbe flare. maybe they are the wrong wheel cyl. or some goofy after market setup that requires matching hoses.

I found another source and their wheel cylinders have the insert. Wish all problems were solved that easily. The first supplier couldn't understand what the problem could be. It appears that they put out a batch of wheel cylinders without the inserts.
