I've always had air shocks on all of my El Caminos. Recently, I installed a set of Airlift airbags (http://www.airliftcompany.com/al1000.htm) and a set of Monroe 54411 Sensa-trac load adjusting coilover shocks in my 86 Monte SS. The ride is fantastic and I'm going to be converting my 87 El Camino to the same setup.
What is everybodys take on Airlift airbags with coilover shocks versus air shocks?

I changed my air shocks for Kyb gas adjust shocks. Then installed air bags. I could not believe how much better it rides now. The bags are invisable untill you need them. I haul alot so with the bags even a heavy load rides so much better. I should have changed years ago. Anyone thinking of changing should soon.

I love my bags! Keep them pumped up to clear my tires

although i'd love to have bags on the back, the air shocks are pretty adjustable, and versital when needing to haul something heavy (like the engine on the way :) )

I hauled over a 1000 lbs. of furniture the other day & I put 15 psi in the bags. The ride was way smoother than air shocks ever was. Air bags are far superior to air shocks.

Air bags are far superior to air shocks. No doubt about THAT!!! Now that i've got the elky in good mechanical shape, that's gonna be one of the next upgrades! :-D
