wheres a good place to get custom bodywork and paint done? i need to finish my car but im afraid of taking it to the wrong person and dropping a lot of saved up money for a lot of headaches. any help would be appreciated.

I know of a few good places but they are in my area. The next obvious question is what condition is your elkie in and how much is your budget. Also are you wanting to modify, restore, do a frame off or frame on? All those things affect price as well as what type of paint is used. If you want PM me and we can talk further.

i have about 3000 to spend right now but im more worried about quality than price. i will be doing a frame on paint job. i have all the paint and primer that i bought as a package. Its from kustomshops.com. i need the door handles, the side markers, the antenna, the tail gate, and the bed mouldings shaved. i also have a custom roll pan with leds that needs to be installed. i also already have the car stripped of everything. i have all new weatherstripping to go on the car when its finished.

I spent my first 19 years there, but moved north 14 years ago. I only had experience with 1 body shop in that time, but I do have a little help. There are car shows nearly every weekend. Talk to owners, even of other makes/models and see who gets good recommendations.

There are weekly shows in El Cajon on Wednesday, La Mesa on Thursday, Chula Vista on Tuesday and in north county other days of the week.

Anyone looking for 5th gen el camino parts? I am in La Mesa and into 1967 Chevy Novas, but have a 79 elky that I am parting out.
