The side trim on my single color 1983 silver El Camino is a glued on black strip about 1.5 inches wide with chrome stripe around the edges. It looks stock as the ends are finished at the proper angle to match the wheel well chrome where it meets it.

Is this type of trim still available?

Also are the chrome wheel well arches available?

OR, does any one have any of this stuff...especially...a right side rear fender well chrome that they could let go of.

My right side rear chrome is pretty bad and the two trim pieces from the rear wheel well back are missing....except for the remains of the glue they were put on with.

Jim. Go to the menu on the home page and click on "Sponsors". They all carry chrome wheel well trim. You also get a discount from them by mentioning NECOA and your number. I havn't seen the black stips but someone else might lead you to them.

OK, thats good. now I wont feel bad about pulling the rest of it off...#8-)

I saw a vendor selling some that looked just like it, but at $60 for just the one piece between the tailgate and the rear wheel arch I decided I didn't need it anyway.

Your truck looks like it has NO trim in the picture, it that so? Mine is the same color as yours so it looks good without trim.

I am thinking of making mine two tone though with the second color starting at the top of the doors and on the hood and with only a small amount on the top edge of the bed above the break line. I think Gun Metal Blue over Silver would be a good combination and I already have a Dark Blue seat for it to replace the gray seat.

The reason I am thinking of going two tone is that the top of the roof and the top of the hood need repainting because of the 24 years of West Texas sun which has yellowed the paint. Going two tone would be less of a job than doing the whole thing.
