I need the 3/8" countersunk Phillips head screws that fasten the tailgate hinge to the tailgate. There are 6 altogether.

Thanks,
Rich

I found them at my local ACE hardware store in stainless. The heads are slightly larger than stock, and use an allen wrench instead of the phillips. I've also seen repro's listed on ebay.

I tried an impact driver and it mostly stripped the heads. Ended up drilling the heads off and then the remaining studs came right out!

While parting out a 76 this weekend, I could not get these screws out even after cutting the 1/4 panels open and applying heat to the back side of the brackets. So I cut out the brackets.

a manual impact or air? I tried the manual the other day with no success.
maybe I ought to soak them in rust away first.

Its been a long time since I had to pull the manual one out and am not sure of the operating instructions anymore. Is the ring on the handle rusted in place or is it supposed to turn to change direction. I got the BFH part down.
