Help,
The tailpipe sniffers are after my Elky. I have one year till the PA Gov. dry docks me and me beloved on account of emmisions testing. I heard that there are 8 or so LT-1 elkys cruzzin 'round out there. And I need your help. I need to know where to start and a rough ballpark on funding this project. I'm only 17 and on minimum income. But I need to do this. I've got background in swapping carbed engines ( 350 SBC Chevy S-10 wise) But I'm at a lost with brain boxes and fuel logs. Any and all help would be great!!

I know of at least 4 LT1 5th gens here. As far as cost that's hard to say.

1. Depends on how much you get the engine, wire harness, ECM and tranny (if you want to use a current one) for.

2. Do you need to overhaul it and how much are you going to build it up?

3. What is in it (the Elky) now? If it's a fuel injected V6 then you have the fuel system to support it.

4. How much of the wiring can you do yourself. There's not a lot but some for the electric fuel pump, fans and connecting the ignition and power between the drivetrain and the existing Elky harness. Most of the wire harness is plug and play with the motor and tranny.

I and few others got our setup off of Ebay. I got the full drivetrain for $1926.00 shipped. I did have the motor overhauled and did get carried away on some of the things that I've done to date to get it moving but did not want to have to worry about doing (or redoing) it later. To give you idea on some of what I've done you can check out my site. www.poltergeist.us I've tried to keep records of everything I've done and there is a page on some of what was spent to get it going.

Post up any questions you have.
