Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two steering sectors. The one on the top is the kind that I've always seen on el caminos. The rusty one on the bottom is one that I have on an older el camino that I bought for a parts car. I've never seen this kind before. Is there anything special about it?http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t240/hightech9853/steeringsector2.jpghttp://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t240/hightech9853/steeringsector1.jpg

The picture on the top is a power steering box. The one on the bottom is a manual steering box.

But the one on the bottom has what looks like power steering lines coming out of it. sccountryboy2004

Yes they are obviously both power. I don't have the manual to identify them but I would wager that they are from a different factory. As with trannys, GM could have the gearbox made by different companys. One of them is most likely a Saginaw, the other possibly Borg Warner. Perhaps someone else will know for sure.
