I'm wondering how one goes about getting the front bumper of a 5th gen. I wanted to replace the bumper shocks, after 3 hours of rust in the eyes I gave up.

Little clue...I use "liquid wrench", works great! Two or three days of pre application....no problem's here. If she ain't gonna give, snap it! 8O

You do know that there is another bolt about 6in to a foot on the frame at the top, because the bumper slides into the frame a little ways. Check it out . Oh yea, Break Free is your friend.

Try the hot wrench, if you're going to replace them the why not torch them off, but if you do be careful how you do it i do believe that they have oil of some sort in them.

Well I just pulled out the shock as far as I could and put a bead weld aroudn it... not the right way but works for me!
