I'd like to get rid of that non-functioning electric clock that sits to the right of the speedometer in my 1981 Conquista. In my opinion, this would be a perfct spot for a tachometer.
Anybody know of a tach that I could replace the clock with or seen it done before?

look for a factory tach setup. that's where it is on my 86.

Thanks - I've never seen a factory tech on 5Gen in that spot. I'll check the salvage yards.

Check Ebay, I see them there quite often. Make sure that wherever you purchase one from, it comes with the tach filter or you'll have to purchase this separately.

Here are all the details that you'll need for the conversion. We just went through all this two weeks ago: Tach Conversion (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/postt2019.html)
