I have a quick question. The seat belt adjuster was always broke on my 78 so I got a pair that "worked". Now when I drive & pull myself forward the seat belt stays out & is slack until I open the door, when it goes back in again. Is this normal? I liked it better broke or always tight against me. I hope I just made since.

The belt is supposed to stay a little loose so it doesn't pull against you all the time. If you quickly pull on the belt it will retract back against you if you like a tight belt. Personally, I like the belt a little loose for comfort.

If thats the case then the "new" adjusters don't work right. If I pull quick or slow they stay out untill I open the door.

Come on guys, yall do wear your belts?! Give me some feedback or I am just going back to my original broke adjuster.

If the little plastic slack adjuster ( or whatever its called ) on the door jam isn't broken then the belt should work like orfunauto said.
Otherwise, I'd say you've got a bad adjuster.
