: Calendar Photo Submissions

I just re-reviewed the calendar photo submissions.

Looks like we need a couple of nice 4th generation Elkys.

There are about a dozen El Caminos/GMCs in excellent condition, in my opinion. Two or three of these might need to re-shoot their photos to be worthy of inclusion on a high quality calendar.

What do the rest of the ECC/NECOA members think?

I would offer photo's of my '76 Sprint SP, but I havn't got a digital camera that's worthy of taking quality pictures. I don't even have a scanner to scan photo's.

We have a lot of beautiful cars posted, but, unfortunately, many of the photos are too small for us to use, at bad angles or have undesirable items in the backgrounds.
I would strongly suggest to anyone with submitted photos to double check their submissions, making sure that they at a minimum meet the requirements that Dan suggested in this Article. (http://elcaminocentral.com/article-103-thread-1-1.html)

I will post the current results from the voting polls later this evening or in the morning so that all may see where they stand.
Also, just because a car is ranked high will not guarantee submission. If a car ranks high, yet the photo is of poor quaility, we will have to choose the next ranking vehicle that meets the submission guidelines.

We're not trying to be picky, it's just that it is not possible to produce a quality calendar without meeting the submission guidelines.
And remember, we are trying to meet a deadline, so that we will have the calendars by Christmas!!!

Thanks guys, and good luck!

I've got some photos submitted by NECOA members to the old NECOA website. I could post some of those that are high quality if the membership thinks that is a good idea?

Great idea! The more choices the better, and the higher quality the photos the more we will love the calendar. Let's keep the standard very high for this first publication. Any one in the North East who wants good quality digital photos to submit and doesn't own a digtial camera can call me or visit me on a clear day and I'll take the photos for them.

Ernie G., I can certainly do a more flattering photo of your girlfriend than the one you posted last month on the forum. Can we deal? John Harris

If you want to email them to me I'll put them up for you or at least try and figure out why you are having the problem.

Brian,
I like your photo #1, although there is a telephone pole growing out the top. The shot of the rear quarter is closer to the composition that we're looking for.
In fact, I voted for the rear shot of your Elky.

I see some beautiful Elkys guys! On that note and I don't mean to be critical and I am by no means a professional photographer. You guys live in all areas of the country and even some foreign countries. Big city skylines like NYC Dallas San Francisco (the bridge?)etc., would look better than half the front of your house with the garage door open. You guys that live in or near the mountains or the desert, I wonder what you could use as a background? Guys in the Midwest, how about an old weather beaten barn? A small lake?...You guys on the coasts what about an ocean shot with a ship in the background or a babe in a bikini on Daytona Beach. An inside shot of your garage might be cool if your garage looks like something a Nascar race team might be working in, speaking of which Daytona Intl Speedway, Indy Speedway, Taladaga etc as background shots. Driving down Bourbon street in New Orleans. How about alongside a Christmas tree...at the dragstrip that is! You guys submitting photos have the cream of the crop Elkys', I can only dream of the day when I think my Elky is good enough to submit it for a calender and when I do, I guarantee the shot will be spectacular. Cmon guys use your imagination, theres got to be something in your area that maybe you see everyday, but I don't but might like too if I was a tourist visiting your area. Please I gotta have something cool in my garage to look at and dream, besides all those parts laying all over the floor while I listen to my wife bitchin' at me!

theelcaminofactory....FANTASTIC POST!

Honestly, I swear I have been thinking the same! Truth is I took some shots of my car in San Francisco with the sky line in the back ground. It was a gray day and the lighting was bad so will be taking more soon.

It's hard to understand that we have 1800+ registered members and only 42 members have voted on which El Caminos/GMCs to include on an ECC/NECOA calendar.

Go to Member Cars/Calendar Submissions and click on the drop down window that says "VOTE", chose Excellent, Very Good, or Good, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "VOTE" (you can do this on every page of the submissions, and for multiple cars) http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Gallery

Thanks,

I think I should also point out that multiple votes for the same vehicle from the same user will be counted only as one vote, not several. For some reason the software allows multiple voting, but as I can tell from the database, some users are voting for the same vehicle over and over, thus distorting the results. And, once again, photos not meeting the guidelines will be disquailified regardless of rank.

Hope everyone checks in for updates....Example '87 Choo Choo on page 10. Beautiful shot and ride! Even though it was posted at the end, don't forget to look at the late entries. I for one think his beautiful '87 ride should be voted on. :)

 I know that after I voted on alot of the AWESOME Elky's that are on this COOL site, I did (like I know alot of you all have done  ) Vote on My Elky. My Wife & my Daughter (she will be 21 on Dec. 12th) were both on this site, at different time's & BOTH Voted on my Elky as well! So...you WILL have 3 Vote's on Each Pic of my Elky, you can count them as 1 Per Pic. I didn't know that they had Voted as well...I hope that you don't Disqualify my 59' Elky !?!?!? :-( "SKULL"
