Quintonsdusty 06-08-2007, 06:25 PM :usa: BEAUTIFUL! :usa:
When I lived in Lake Mary, I used to travel over to Titusville and watch from a school yard. Absolutely awsome.
El Corvino 06-08-2007, 11:49 PM Those pictures are amazing!
Lenny Carey 06-09-2007, 06:16 AM Light the fires and kick the tires!!!
ajmarrin 06-09-2007, 02:46 PM I completely forgot about last nights launch, otherwise I woulda been out in the back pasture watching. I live outside of Gainesville and we get a suprising good view, especially a night launch. Interesting thing, if conditions are just right, we can actually get a slight vibration about five minutes after the launch. It's enough to rattle a metal sculpture we've got hanging on one of our walls.
82 Elco 06-10-2007, 05:16 AM I didn't know you could sometimes feel the effect in Gainsville. That's cool!
ajmarrin 06-10-2007, 03:24 PM We are about 12 miles SW of Titletown (that's Gainesville to you non-Gators) and out in the country, but the first time I experienced this I thought it was pretty amazing.
Jive 65 06-10-2007, 06:38 PM Congratulations, Juan. Vicki & I were in Asheville, NC at a bike rally for the weekend, but I was glad to hear the shuttle launch went off as planned.
82 Elco 06-10-2007, 07:22 PM Yes sir! Thanks Jive! Next up Endeavor on or about Aug 8th. Thanks again.
Lenny Carey 07-10-2007, 08:45 AM Hey Juan,Does that space shuttle thing have a " Hemi " in it?
theelcaminofactory 07-10-2007, 11:23 AM Hey Juan,Does that space shuttle thing have a " Hemi " in it?Hey... this a Chevy site, the term Big Block or Rat Motor is more appropriate and politically correct! "Hemi" is a four letter word and inappropriate for the ears of lil children, small fuzzy animals, or people like me who only own GM vehicles! If you want to use that nasty word please go to an adult Dodge owners website...that's if there really is any adult Dodge owners. 8)
ajmarrin 08-12-2007, 02:46 PM Hate to reserect an old thread, but this was just too cool. We're about 12 miles SW of Gainesville. About 5 minutes after the other evening's launch, as we sometime do, I could hear and feel the shock wave from the launch. My wife was outside in the pool and I went to ask her if she heard it. She said there were actually ripples in the pool water. I always find the fact that we can sometimes actually hear and feel the launch just utterly amazing.
82 Elco 09-03-2007, 07:55 AM I've been pretty busy lately. Where does the time go? I'm a little late this time around. Sorry...
This time, we have pictures of OV105 Endeavour. It was cut short by one day due to the off chance hurricane Dean would head towards Texas. As we know Dean struck Mexico.
Enjoy the pics and the view!!!!

82 Elco 09-06-2007, 09:25 PM Not too many flights left (approximately 12). We may have a bit of a lull after that. I've seen about 6 dozen Space Shuttle launches, a few Atlas, Delta II, IV, and some Titan launches. Titans have since then been retired. Those bad boys were quite thunderous.
