Back on the spare tire issue for a 1983 car. Can the so called MINI spare tire be used? This is for very short distances of course, just enough to get home. I have had several Morgans and their tire is mounted on the back of the car Neat and handy. In fact one car a 1938 had Two spares mounted on the back
Thanks

My '75 Elky actually came standard with the Space Saver Spare mounted behind the passenger's seat (RHS).

If you get one, in addition to 87ElCamino's advice, check it has adequate clearance around the calipers and other components.

Thank you Ernie and John for the reply.

This is very helpful information. Being the new kid on the block on this website, I hope I am answering you.
All of these bits of information are verycrucial.
Thanks again.

No worries Richard. I am an Elky rank amateur myself, having only been here since February and having a rare beast for here in OZ.

I have looked under the covers a lot with my '75 so can speak with a very little personal experience about that model but on the space saver spares the knowledge I have gained on those is more related to my 300C SRT8 which comes with no spare whatsoever and the 300C space save does not fit it due to brake component clearance limitations.

Good luck with it.
