has anybody changed their 4th gen 4 lamp system over to just two round lamps? and if so what do i have to do to the existing wiring so the hi and low beams work.the reason i ask is a friend of mine that has a junk yard has a 75 malibu classic and i like the look of a two light system over a 4 lamp.thanks.

don't know if this will apply to a 4th gen. but i switched my 5th gen from 2 headlights to 4 and all i did was to take the old 2 headlight harness wires and cut them then splice in the 4 headlight wire harness about a foot or two from where it came out of the firewall. both harnesses had the same number and color of wires that close to the firewall then farther down the harness it split off into the four light setup. so i would assume if this was the case on a 4ht gen you could do the same thing if you can get the wire harness from the one you're wanting to switch to. Hopefully that made sense.
