first off, i am new hear and wanted to say hi to everyone. i've wanted an elky for a long time and finally have one. it is a 1980 conquista.
looking for opinions if i should try to do this work myself? keep og paint and try to match the repaired area? or repaint the whole thing after body repair?

the paint looks great where there are no prblem areas and there are only a few problem areas.

Welcome to the site kingpat.
You have not said what your experience is regarding body work. Can you weld and have a wire feed welder? The rusted areas look like they might need some new steel patch repair. You can grind these areas and use fibreglass but it will not hold up in the long run. I don't think new paint will match 27-year old paint, but you might get away with painting entire panels and rubbing- out the good paint to see what you really have before painting. It all depends on what your future plans are for this Elky, whether you just want to patch it up or give it a complete body repair and paint. From your photos it looks like you have a solid car to start with. Good luck with it. Doug
