I bought a StreetGlow LED strip for under the tailgate when I was last at Carlisle. Wired it up today and it came out pretty well. It has running lights, brake, and turn signals.

The LEDs are actually much brighter than the picture shows, and since he was the official "supervisor" Otus had to get in the picture too!

I've got the same "roll pan" on my "84 & 87", and have always disliked the space between the botton of the tailgate and the roll pan. This looks like it fills it quite a bit.

Is there any problem to open the tailgate? With it hitting the lights? I don't haul anything, and only open the gate to clean/dry, but am just wondering.

Do you have the name of the manufacturer, or a model number, or where one might purchase this?

Thanks for the picture. (dog too :-) )

The unit comes with four adhesive pads that are screwed to the back. These pads are a bit thick so at first placement the tailgate, when lowered, does hit the back of the light bar but still opens all the way. WHat I did was replace these with a thinner adhesive pad available at any hardware store.

You can also remove the pads and drill holes and bolt the unit in place if you prefer.

Your tailgate may or may not hit, it depends on the alignement and placement of the roll pan.

By the way, wiring was simple, just four wires... ground to frame, running lights, left, and right turn signals.

I dont have the roll pan (yet). Everything in back on my 84 is still stock, but I'm assuming the install would be the same? Thanx P.S.-I should probly remove the tailgate weatherstripping,as well? I dont really care about it being sealed much anyhow....
