I know this is probably a long shot. I am trying to locate my 1st car I bought when I was 18. It was a 1971 El Camino SS, Yellow with Black Stripes. I sold it in the early 90's in Reseda, CA.
When I sold it, there was a Buick 455 in it, Turbo 400 switch pitch tranny, Ford 9' rearend.
I am sure there are not to many El Caminos running around with a Buick 455 in it, so thats its big identifier, if it still has it.
Would like to get it back.

Thanks,
Lee

some of us just keep doing that. Sorry I can't help with any information on your search but will keep my eyes open. Maybe when someone sees mine they will tell me about another one with a 455 in it. you never know.

Very nice ride. I am happy to see others think the way I do.
I did my conversion in 1984 using a 1971 GS455 as the donor.
I had a Kenne Bell cam and headers. An offy manifold with 2 carter 500afbs. The 9" rearend had been in the car for a couple of years prior. My 12 bolt gave it up so I switched out to the 9".
Keep up the good work the car looks great.
