Just wondering if anyone has done a body lift to replace the body mount bushings? I plan to do the radiator support bushing at the same time so I'll have the front sheet metal off. Several of the bolts and nuts have had to be replaced already. At least those in the rear of the bed area, the bushings have turned to hard donuts. The mounting area above the rear axle needs to be replaced, anyone know of any of the sheet metal manufacturers that make this piece or should I plan on making one by hand?? I do have access to a junkyard donor that is in very good shape however being that there is no exterior damage of any kind it would make an excellent project for resto. So I hate to go out and cut it up just for the one piece. :D

Good topic!! And a great winter project!!

I just read a decent thread about this on the Turbo Regal Web Site. It has some good advice that applies somewhat to Elky's. The link is:

If you do this job, remember to take photos for ECC/NECOA.

Found the articles and printed them all for reference. Have digital camera and I plan to do the photos as I go along. Started taking photos when I started doing all the paint removal. Also before and after I shaved an un-needed 15 lbs. of bondo off the rear areas. Underneath the bondo I found good clean straight sheet metal. Left lower rear quarter was the only panel that needed replacing. Guess I got lucky. :-D

To bad the body lift topic didn't go further.
