I have a 79 elky when I got it it was in pretty bad shape. It came with a stock 305. Id like to run some custom ideas past you guys. There are a lot of elkys down here most of them are a lot newer than mine however I like to be different. The first thing I would like to do is to put my elky body on a 4x4 chevy frame, any suggestionson vehicle type?

I've always thought it was un-natural to put an El Camino body on a 4x4 frame. Almost to the point of being sacrilegious. But, each to their own. Here is a link to get you started.

Why don't you just buy a Jeep?

A buddy of mine used to have one. It was on a C-10 blazer frame & suspension. Personally I never saw the point.

I know its unnatural but i love my elky so much I want to take her everywhere hunting fishing or any place we want. As far as jeeps go I cant standem, first off they're not big enough second they jus dont have the right look and the elky is dam good looking body.
