guys i recovered a 1979 carabella that was junked and left on a creek bank and was flooded several times. i saw the elk there for years. after a lengthy search i found the owner and inspected the remains. first inspection was the underside. WOW it has great floors. mud filled all vents and anywhere else that wouldnt drain. but i saved it and in the process of making a great vehicle again. i installed a 454 and 400 removed all chrome. had to install 4 inchcowl hood . now i am wondering what color should i paint it. was thinking about black with white or silver stripes the bumpers painted black also. bright orange with the chevelle type stripes white or black. or lime green with the stripes. guys i need help . oh yea it is lowered 3inches if that matters. its my SWAMP RAT

I'm partial to the balck and white look. You could paint it black or white with the opposite color as the stripes like the Chevelles. My '82 is white with a blue pearl in the clear coat and that looks pretty good. Maybe you could make a fake Yenko out of it. 8-)

Mine needs paint also, but the way I feel about it right now is that after driving it for a while the color that best fits the car will come to me, kinda like the Elcamino choosing it's own color. And right now I'm in the process of building a brand new 9" for mine so there went my paint job money. :)

as long as you can get the body straight enough, go with black. And please don't paint the chrome bumpers, get the fiberglass ones for that.
