A friend of mine says I'm crazy for the goals I've set for my Sprint. He says the 1/4 mile times are easily attainable, but the other's are not. Here's my goals:
12.99 or better 1/4 mile time
.75 G's on a 200foot skidpad (maybe even .80 G's)
55% of the overall weight on the front.
I know there are more goals I set, but since it's 3 a.m. I can't remember them (I just got home from work about 1.5 hours ago).
With the last one (weight distribution) it is already at 58.5% on the front. Overall weight is 4100lbs with me in it, 1700lbs rear 2400lbs front. I think if I remove all the A/C stuff, Aluminum radiator, intake, etc. Add headers, and move battery to rear. And a few fiberglass parts here and there, I should be closer to my goal.
I ran my Sprint with the Gtech the other day and came up with a best of 14.94@98mph. This was with 300lbs of junk in the bed (blown rear end and spare tires/rims), and a lot of wheel spin. I think that with traction, 2200-2500rpm stall converter, shift kit, intake manifold, carb, ignition, and exhaust... my 12.99 goal is easily attainable. And if all of those parts don't give me my goal, I'll throw nitrous on it. Start with a 50hp shot, then 75hp, and stopping at 100hp.
What to ya think? Am I crazy?
Charles
BTW, I'm used to being called crazy. It's how I got the nickname "Nutty", for all the crazy idea's I come up with.
