Can you guys help me identify my 700R4? I picked it up for $75 and would like to know more about it. I already know it's a 1983 model with 27 spline input shaft. Here is the ID # I got just above the pan rail 3YK175D I searched the net for how to identify, but all I could find was for year identification.

My Haynes Manual says if it's a 1983 model it should start with "10"
The only other numbers that make since with that book though is the YK= 700R4, the D=day shift. There should be 2 other letters to give the assembly plant and the month produced.

I would believe a GM manual a lot quicker than the Haynes manual though!!!
